AC Coir has two factories, situated in Pannala and Daraluwa in the North Western Province of Sri Lanka. The factory premises as well as our coconut plantations are situated in the coconut triangle of Sri Lanka. The peal or husk of the coconut fruit is used as our raw material for a range of products, such as coco peat, husk chips and coir fiber products. We use latest technology in the manufacturing process. There are about 100 employees working in each of our factories. All of them are villagers who live in suburbs near the factories. Other than the factory workers, we also have skilled employees on our plantations to manage the crops well. Currently, we practice safety measures with factory workers, and considering their welfare, we have planned to obtain ISO standards for our products by the year 2024. According to our production capacity and the foreseeing planning, A coconut tree can provide food, firewood, roofing materials, alcohol, treacle, and a lot of fiber-based products. Therefore, as a leading manufacturer & exporter of coco peat and fiber products, nothing is removed as waste except water that is used to ferment the husks to separate the fiber.
